Expectations vs. Realities
Why is it when we imagine the bodies of women, we picture something so artificial and unrealistic?
The aim of my series is to prompt the viewer with an image of a part of a woman's body, and reveal to them a version of this body part that they've come to not only accept to see, but expect to see. Upon viewing this expectation, they're then faced with the reality: the version you don't expect and society has deemed unacceptable. When going back and forth between the two images, the viewer should have a sense of reflection come upon them, as they realize that the first image does not strike them or phase them, despite its heavily photoshopped state.
